ScribeOath

The scribe that keeps the oath.

An on-device medical scribe for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your patient's words never leave the room: the session is transcribed on your device, and the note is written on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded.

The Manifesto

The last private scribe.

A session is the most honest conversation in a person's week. A patient says things out loud they have told no one else. That trust is the entire job.

Every other AI scribe takes that conversation and uploads it: to a server you don't control, run by a company whose privacy policy can change, waiting on a breach that hasn't happened yet. They ask you to trust a promise. We built ScribeOath to make the promise unnecessary.

The recording is transcribed on your device. The note is written on your device. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to. We run no server that can receive your patients' words. We can't read them, sell them, train on them, hand them to anyone, or lose them in a breach. They never left the room.

"Whatever I see or hear in the lives of my patients, which ought not to be spoken of outside, I will keep secret."

The Hippocratic Oath, 5th century BC
"Zero data retention" is a promise.
"It never left your device" is physics.
How it works

Record or dictate

Consent is attested first, every time. The session is captured and transcribed by Apple's on-device speech engine.

The note writes itself

Apple Intelligence drafts a structured SOAP note in your specialty's conventions, before your patient reaches the door.

You approve every word

Review, edit, approve. Then paste into any EHR with the ScribeOath keyboard. That's your license, and the app is built around it.

Private by architecture, not by policy
i.

No cloud

Transcription and AI writing happen entirely on your device. There is no processing server.

ii.

No accounts

No sign-up, no login, no password. We don't know who you are.

iii.

No servers

We operate nothing that could receive a session. There is nowhere to upload to.

iv.

Consent, logged

Every recording requires a consent attestation, stored with the encounter on your device.

v.

Audio that vanishes

Recordings auto-delete after you approve the note. You choose the retention policy.

vi.

Yours to lock

Face ID app lock, iOS Data Protection encryption, and sync only through your own private iCloud.

Hippo, the ScribeOath mascot, holding a shield
Meet Hippo

Forgets nothing. Tells no one.

Named for Hippocrates, sworn to the same oath. Hippos are famous for their enormous open mouths; ours never opens his. He remembers every session so you don't have to, and he repeats them to absolutely nobody.

The honest tradeoff

AI drafting runs on Apple Intelligence, so it needs a recent device (iPhone 15 Pro or newer, Apple silicon iPad or Mac). Older devices still get on-device transcription, structured templates, editing, and sync. There is no cloud fallback. That's not a missing feature. It's the feature.
